The Boys in the Band is a 2020 American gay drama film directed by Joe Mantello, based on the 1968 play of the same name by Mart Crowley, who also wrote the screenplay alongside Ned Martel. Crowley had previously adapted The Boys in the Band for a 1970 film version directed by William Friedkin and starring the original 1968 Off-Broadway cast. The film stars the full cast from the play's 2018 Broadway revival, including Jim Parsons, Zachary Quinto, Matt Bomer, Andrew Rannells, Charlie Carver, Robin de Jesús, Brian Hutchison, Michael Benjamin Washington, and Tuc Watkins.

A group of gay friends reunites to celebrate one of their birthdays at an apartment on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. When the host's potentially closeted college roommate shows up uninvited, the evening is thrown into turmoil.
